Imageries of God

When I think of the imagery God uses of Himself, I am overcome by His pursuit of me. Of how I am His Beloved and He is mine.

I wonder if the imagery of light is supposed to overwhelm our senses as we walk outside on a warm summer day. As the sun’s rays envelop us, we are reminded of our Beloved’s warming embrace.

I wonder if the imagery of living water is supposed to rush upon us every time we reach for a glass of ice water to fill our aching thirst or lower our heads under the shower facet as we allow the water to flow over us, washing our dirt and stains away.
