Who AM I?

Introduction

This is a revision of the one I wrote back in 2012. I hope to keep revising it over the years, adding new passages, and making it more and more personal.

Who Am I?

I am created in the image and likeness of God (Genesis 1:26).

He knitted me together in my mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13-17).

He calls me by name, and I am His (Isaiah 43:1-2).

I am His treasured possession (Deuteronomy 7:6).

I am the apple of His eye (Zechariah 2:8).

I am His masterpiece (Ephesians 2:10).

He rejoices over me with gladness,

He quiets me with His love,

He sings over me with loud singing (Zephaniah 3:17).

He knows me intimately, knowing my struggles and weaknesses, and remembers that I'm but dust. (Psalm 103:13-14).

His mercies are new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23).

His love was demonstrated in that while I was still a sinner Jesus died for me (Romans 5:8-10).

He chose me (John 15:16) and bought me for a price (1 Corinthians 6:20)

The price was His blood; through it, I have redemption (Ephesians 1:7-8).

I have been forgiveness of my sins (1 John 1:9).

 I am a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17).

It is no longer I who live but Christ who lives in me (Galatians 2:20).

There is now no condemnation for me (Romans 8:1).

I am free from the bondage of sin (Romans 6:18).

 I am His ambassador (2 Corinthians 5:20).

I am His witness (Acts 1:8).

 I am a part of Christ’s body (1 Corinthians 12:27).

 I am God’s temple (1 Corinthians 3:16).

 I am a child of God (1 John 3:1).

Jesus calls me a friend (John 15:15).

I am His sheep (John 10:27-28). He is my Shepherd (Psalm 23; John 10).

I am a part of a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for His own possession (1 Peter 2:9).

If God is for me, who can be against me? (Romans 8:31).

The good work He began in me, He will bring it to completion (Philippians 1:6).

He will never forget me; I am engraved on the palms of His hands (Isaiah 49:15-16).

He will never leave me or forsake me (Hebrews 13:5; Deuteronomy 31:6).

He cares about my anxieties and fears telling me to cast them on Him (1 Peter 5:7).

As His holy and beloved, I will be what He has been for me: compassionate, kind, humble, meek, patient, and comforting (Colossians 3:12; 2 Corinthians 1:3-4).

Though this body may die, I know I have eternal life (John 3:16)

I know this earth is not my home; I am only a passer-through (1 Peter 2:11).

I am a citizen of heaven (Philippians 3:20).

 I Am Beloved.
